What is Direct Primary Care?
DPC is an innovative alternative payment model improving access to high functioning healthcare with a simple, flat, affordable membership fee. No Co-pays. No deductibles. No third party billing. The defining element of DPC is an enduring and trusting relationship between my patients and me. Because my relationship with my patients does not include the insurance company, I’m accountable first and foremost to my patients. The DPC model allows me to keep my patient numbers under 500, while the traditional practice must manage at least 2,500 patients to offset the massive overhead involved with insurance billing. The lower number of patients allows me to spend more quality time treating my patients – generally 35 – 45 minutes, compared with eight minutes at a traditional practice. In the U.S. the average individual healthcare plan cost more than $8300 a year.* The Roman Family Practice DPC membership fee is only $100 a month – no premiums, deductible or copays! Find out today why more and more Americans are turning to DPC healthcare plans.
*Includes premiums and deductible but not copays
Is DPC Health Insurance?
Is DPC Health Insurance?
It’s important to understand DPC is NOT health insurance. It is not a substitute for health insurance. It is simply a membership contract between you and me, your primary care provider, to service only your primary care needs.
What if I need health care services outside of the office?
Catastrophic care and services such as X-ray, colonoscopies, mammograms, and emergency care are not covered under your DPC membership. We work very closely with specialists in the area, radiology groups, and hospitals to ensure you receive coordinated care with negotiated cash, rates you pay directly to their facility.
NOTE: Because your membership benefits cover your primary care needs, you may qualify for a less expensive health insurance plan that covers catastrophic and non-primary care needs.
